What is it?
Donkey Kong punches his way through the ground and walls. You can throw chunks of rock you break or dig down into underground areas, so the terrain itself becomes the playground.
Why it matters
It drew attention as the work of the team behind Super Mario Odyssey. The joy of smashing everything needs no words, so it lands easily with players abroad.
The numbers abroad
Nintendo's official figures put it at 4.78 million units worldwide as of June 30, 2026, one of the top Nintendo Switch 2 titles.
