What is it?
Your Name is Makoto Shinkai's animated film released in August 2016. It follows Taki, a boy in Tokyo, and Mitsuha, a girl in a mountain town in the Hida region, who mysteriously swap bodies. Her town of Itomori is fictional and modeled on the Hida area.
A national buzzword
In 2016, "seichi junrei" (holy-site pilgrimage) entered the top 10 of Japan's annual buzzword awards, because so many fans traveled to Hida after the film.
