What is it?

Crayon Shin-chan is Yoshito Usui's gag manga, first serialized in 1990. Because the story is set in Kasukabe, the city adopted the characters as its image mascots. There are character monuments at a children's center, and Kasukabe Station plays the song "Ora wa Ninkimono" as its departure melody.

Official residents

In 2004, as part of the city's 50th anniversary, Kasukabe registered the Nohara family at a fictional address. The family now also promotes child-raising support and serves as a guide to the city.

Before you go

Most of these spots are ordinary towns, homes and schools. Stay off private property, keep noise down, and be considerate when taking photos.
